Justin Robie Wood

As an artist who came of age during the pivot from analog to digital, I investigate the dirty interface between what's ending and what's being born by creating work that bridges the last era of physical permanence and the first age of total digital immersion. Through projection mapping, code, video, painting, and immersive environments, my work destabilizes the boundary between light and object, forcing viewers to confront the moment when matter and screen become indistinguishable.

I hold a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (NY) where I studied painting with Jack Whitten, Michael Goldberg, Luccio Pozzi, Stephen Westfall, Brooke Larsen and Joanne Greenbaum. My work has been exhibited internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions including Scope Miami, The World Bank's Art of Resilience, Wallplay's OnCanal Series, Spring Break Art Fair, e(Merge) Art Fair juried by Ai Wei Wei and Showfields. My practice has been covered by ArtNews, ArtInfo, Artnet.com, Hyperallergic, Art Nerd, the Miami New Times and The Takeaway (WNYC).
